Since 2015, IDH has been working in Brazil on an innovative approach to promoting long-term sustainable land use. We connect rural producers, companies, governments, local communities, financiers and investors to establish collective governance models. These alliances create an environment for positive and reliable dialogue, aiming to solve complex issues through a common approach: economic and social development coupled with protection of forests. As a result, agricultural products are produced sustainably, small producers and local communities are included in socio-productive chains, and natural resources are conserved and protected.
We work from a territorial approach, which seeks to promote long-term sustainable management and development, bringing together the implementation of financial solutions for a landscape, support of public policies agenda, green growth plans, PPI compacts, and co-funding projects as integral strategies for a cohesive and sustainable landscape management approach.
Through facilitating this approach, IDH aims to drive impact in the following areas, also referred to as result areas: Improved landscape governance, Change in business practices, Field-level sustainability.
Since 2019, IDH Brazil is developing the Sustainable Production of Calves Program, in partnership with the private sector. The program aims to be a catalyst for transformation, not only for livestock farming in Mato Grosso, but also in other productive regions throughout Brazil, such as the state of Pará, establishing a new framework for sustainable production. In this new scenario, small calves’ producers are officially recognized and placed at the forefront of an increasingly robust, fair and financially viable production chain.
IDH is looking to contract a consultant to conduct the impact study on the Sustainable Production of Calves Program in the context of our Landscape Programme in Brazil, including the main areas in Mato Grosso and Pará states, from January to July 2025.
The proposal must be submitted to Manuela Santos at malufsantos@idhtrade.org and Nathália Monéa
at monea@idhtrade.org before 17 January 2025 at 18h (Brasília time).
