Since 2015, IDH has been working in Brazil on an innovative approach to promoting long-term sustainable land use. We connect rural producers, companies, governments, local communities, financiers, and investors to establish collective governance models. These alliances create an environment for positive and reliable dialogue, aiming to solve complex issues through a common approach: economic and social development coupled with the protection of forests. As a result, agricultural products are produced sustainably, small producers and local communities are included in socio-productive chains, and natural resources are conserved and protected.
In IDH-funded projects, a territorial (landscape) approach is applied, which seeks to promote long-term sustainable management and development, with three central pillars: Produce, Protect, and Include (PPI). Based on these pillars, we work on strategic fronts with companies, governments, and producers on developing green growth plans, connecting companies, proposing financial solutions, and supporting producers.
In Pará, IDH is currently developing the Sustainable Production of Calves Program (“Program”), which is aligned with a broader sustainability agenda for the cattle sector in Brazil. Part of the Program’s strategy is to enable the development and implementation of public environmental policies, particularly in the following areas: Implementation of the Brazilian Forest Code, Livestock and traceability, and territory planning among others.
The overall objective of the assignment is to set up and manage the Producers Support Centre (“NAP”) in Pará state which will provide support to farmers in the region in the areas of the environment, commercial requalification, including guidance to access opportunities regarding the implementation of the Sustainable Livestock Programme. In the light thereof, IDH is seeking a consultant that will provide the conditions, including infrastructure and equipment, and enable NAP to offer the services described in item 2 below. The consultant’s team is expected to carry out their activities at the office (including customer service) and, occasionally, with itinerant service in the Pará region.
The selected consultant will provide support by performing various services.
The proposal must be submitted to Alex Schmidt at schmidt@idhtrade.org before 06/06/2025 at 6:00 PM (Mato Grosso/GMT-4).
