Since 2015, IDH has been working in Brazil on an innovative approach to promoting long-term sustainable land use. We connect rural producers, companies, governments, local communities, financiers and investors to establish collective governance models. These alliances create an environment for positive and reliable dialogue, aiming to solve complex issues through a common approach: economic and social development coupled with protection of forests.
We apply a territorial approach, which seeks to promote long-term sustainable management and development, with three central pillars: Produce, Protect (Conserve) and Include. To support the regional model of PCI strategy to reach the goals related mainly to the sustainable agriculture, environmental and land tenure regularization, IDH intends to set up a Producers Support Center – CAP. The CAP will support the 12 municipalities signatories of the PCI Compact in the Balsas region in the State of Maranhão in Brazil.
The overall objective of this assignment is to implement and manage the CAP by provide technical assistance and support in environmental and land regularization for the farmers in the region.
IDH is looking for a consultant that must provide conditions, including infrastructure and equipments, to allow the CAP to offer the services described in the item 2 above. The CAP’s team must develop their activities in the office (including customer service) and in the farmers (itinerant service).
